Facility

MFS Shop

Mission Farrier School operates as part of our small family farm, providing students with a real-world, hands-on learning environment. Our 60' × 70' fully equipped farrier shop includes gas forges, Delta Future 3 anvils, grinders, and a complete suite of professional horseshoeing tools.

Students also have access to a round pen and multiple 6-foot, mustang-proof layup pens for safely housing and working young or challenging horses. All horses are shod on rubber mats in a clean, organized, and professional setting, allowing students to focus on developing proper technique, safety, and craftsmanship in a comfortable working environment.

Student Housing

Mission Farrier School has student housing available through several nearby Airbnb facilities that we reserve specifically for each session. For the 2026 year, students will be housed in a well-appointed, two-level home located on a beautiful working ranch approximately 15 minutes from the school shop. The upstairs level is designated for men and the downstairs level for women, providing comfortable and appropriate accommodations for all students.

Each level includes bathrooms and laundry facilities. Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and may be private or shared depending on availability. Housing is available to enrolled students and typically costs under $25 per night, making it an affordable and convenient option while attending the program.

Hunt RV Park

Students may also opt to take advantage of the nearby Hunt RV park with full hookups, a bathhouse facility, and free (slow) wifi. The park is just minutes away from the MFS shoeing shop.

from Wasco County Website:  Hunt Park is a picturesque park located in Tygh Valley, Oregon at the base of Mount Hood.
